College Football News: Sam Bradford to Start for Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday

Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford will return to the starting lineup on Saturday when his team faces the Baylor Bears in their Big 12 opener.

Bradford has missed the last three games for the Sooners (2-2) after suffering a sprained right shoulder in the tam’s opening game loss to BYU. Without Bradford the Sooners have dropped down to #19 in the most recent AP Top 25 rankings after being considered a legitimate contender for the national championship prior to the season starting.

While national title aspirations may be on hold the Sooners could still win the Big 12 and earn a BCS bowl invitation. Bradford had said he wanted to get some playing time before the Sooners faced the #2 Texas Longhorns next week.

Coach Bob Stoops stated that Bradford, last year’s Heisman Trophy winner, had recovered enough from his injury to earn the start against Baylor but how much he will play remains to be seen.
