Hugo Boss Prize Finalist Are Chosen

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation has chosen the six finalists for the 2010 Hugo Boss (ETR: BOS) Prize. The award goes to an individual who has made an important contribution to modern art. The prize is a $100,000 award that is given every two years and is sponsored by the German men's wear company, Hugo Boss.

Unlike many art awards this has no restrictions on age or nationality. The winner is chosen by a six person jury. This year's list is centered around conceptual and performance artists and includes no painters. The winner of the award will be announced in the fall of 2010 and along with the prize money that will receive a solo show in 2011 at the Guggenheim Museum in New York.
