Healthcare security specialist McRoberts Security Technologies is today introducing and demonstrating MyChild for WiFi at the HIMSS Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans. My Child® for WiFi is the first application on the new WiFi-with-Ultrasound and LF Tracking Platform Sonitor Sense™.
This new platform, in conjunction with the McRoberts Bridge Middleware®, brings patient tracking and protection to a level of location precision never available until now. This new open-standards platform provides room-level accuracy that is far superior to tracking systems based on RFID or WiFi alone. MyChild® for WiFi is the first application of this ground-breaking technology to be brought to the patient protection segment of the healthcare market.
Components of the MyChild® for WiFi solution include McRoberts’ patented umbilical tagging solution—the most secure on the market; the McRoberts Bridge Middleware®, which forms the basis of McRoberts’ comprehensive suite of healthcare security and tracking solutions; the ability to differentiate the tag’s exact room location without the bleeding through walls and floors typical of traditional RFID or WiFi alone; and the ability to lock doors. Because MyChild® for WiFi leverages a healthcare facility’s existing WiFi platform for communication between the tag and the server, adoption of this new technology is simple and cost-effective.
At the Sonitor/McRoberts booth (Number 1763), HIMMS attendees will see how MyChild® for WiFi’s intuitive and easy-to-use GUI enables the viewer to see the exact room location of each infant WiFi tag as it interacts with Sonitor Sense™, as well as accessing and configuring patient records associated with each tag.
Follow-on applications in McRoberts’ comprehensive suite of safety and security solutions for healthcare that will be released on the new hybrid WiFi-with-ultrasound and LF platform will provide complete patient and staff duress protection, patient-flow and asset tracking, temperature and environmental monitoring, and visitor tracking and vendor management.
While the McRoberts Bridge Middleware® processes all location and other information across the different applications, each individual application is customized to end user requirements, presenting only the information the specific end user needs, and in the mode which is most useful and appropriate to each job function.
