Eli Manning was 8/10 passing for 173 yards and two touchdowns, Ahmad Bradshaw collected 110 yards on the ground and scored a pair of TDs and the defense of the New York Giants (5-0) held the hapless Oakland Raiders (1-4) offense to just 124 yards in a 44-7 blowout on Sunday.
While Manning was still nursing an injured heel the Raider still had no answer for the Giants offense in the opening quarter. Bradshaw put New York in front 7-0 on a one-yard run and less than four minutes later Bradshaw was standing in the endzone after a 19-yard run and the lead was up to 14-0.
Manning got in on the scoring action in the second quarter when he hit Mario Manningham on a 30-yard toss and after an Oakland fumble Manning found Hakeem Nicks on a 9-yard touchdown pass and NY was cruising with a 28-0 lead. The Raiders managed to find the endzone on a Michael Bush 5-yard touchdown run with 2:19 left in the opening half but the Giants closed the second with a 25-yard field goal from Lawrence Tynes to head into the locker room with a 31-7 lead.
With Manning sitting out the entire second half the Giants went to David Carr and he opened the scoring in the third quarter with a 12-yard touchdown run and New York added another Tynes field goal to carry a 41-7 advantage into the fourth. Tynes would hit his third field goal of the game in the fourth to wrap up the scoring.
