The New York Rangers (26-24-5) scored a pair of goals in the first and second periods and added another in the third to blow out the Tampa Bay Lightning (30-24-2) 5-0. Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 29 shots he faced and Jaromir Jagr had a goal and an assist in the shutout win. Martin Straka had a pair of assists for the Rangers and Sean Avery, Ryan Hollweg, Marcel Hossa, and Colton Orr each scored a goal.
Shawn Horcoff scored a power play goal in the third minute of the third period to give the Edmonton Oilers (27-24-4) a 2-0 lead and they held on to beat the Chicago Blackhawks (21-27-7) 2-1. Horcoff assisted on the first period goal by Raffi Torres as well. Dwayne Roloson stopped 32 shots to preserve the win for Edmonton.
