Now available for Android, Flikshop is a mobile application allowing users to send photos and messages to incarcerated friends and family through the mail. The app originally launched in the iTunes Store last summer.
“It was important for us to reach our Android customers,” said Marcus Bullock, CEO of Flikshop. “They have been waiting patiently for this release, and have now surpassed our iPhone users by over 200%.”
This communications app allows users to correspond with family and friends in correctional facilities. Android users can now send a full-color postcard from their phone directly to any inmate. The postcard is perforated so the inmate can choose to display the entire postcard or only the photo.
Users can take a photo using their camera, use a photo from their phone’s photo album, or even Login to their Facebook and Instagram accounts to upload photos directly into the Flikshop app. Just simply get your photo, write a brief message, and hit send - Flikshop handles the rest. Users only need to know the inmate’s name, inmate number, and name of the correctional facility. Flikshop ships a real 4 x 6 full color postcard directly to the inmate with the user’s picture. Each postcard is only $0.99 and postage is included. Flikshop services state and county jails, state facilities, Federal facilities, and Juvenile facilities.

Flikshop is also committed to bridging the gap between inmates and the communities affected by their crimes. Bring In The Community, powered by Flikshop, partners with community programs and organizations supporting inmate rehabilitation and prison reform. Partnering with select juvenile facilities throughout the country, the program wants to introduce offenders to a different method of motivation and self-enrichment.
Bring In The Community will introduce successful members of the local area to offenders. Flikshop hopes students create an empowering vision of themselves and what they can do as a career upon release.
"Bring In The Community is necessary,” said Bullock. “Entrepreneurship is a very big part of the American Dream, and inmates need to be able to swing at the fences as well."
