Sean Lowe’s Bachelor journey came to a close last night with the Dallas native picking out a Neil Lane ring and popping the question in Thailand. Before he makes his big decision, Sean seeks his family’s opinion on his remaining two ladies – Lindsay and Catherine.
Sean introduces Catherine first. "We get each other," he explains. "I'm a little weird, funny, and she's a little weird, funny. So we bring that out in each other." The Lowe family likes Catherine immediately, and dad Jay says he will be her biggest fan and love her like a daughter if Sean ends up proposing.
Lindsay earns major points with the family when she opens up about her Christian values. Sean’s mom loves when Lindsay says she will not live with Sean until after marriage, and his dad loves when she talks about prayer being a part of a marriage. Lindsay’s visit with the Lowes is a success.
Although both ladies were welcomed warmly, Sean’s mom is wary of him proposing to either one. She warns him that he should not propose to either girl if he isn’t absolutely sure he is in love. Sean seems slightly annoyed and insists he only needs support. "More than anything, I just want your support,” he says.
Sean goes on his last one-on-one dates before making the big decision. He meets Lindsay for a boat ride down a river and he takes Catherine elephant riding. Each date only makes Sean’s dilemma a little harder as both Lindsay and Catherine express their love and desire for a life with him.
Sean finds clarity the following morning. "I woke up this morning and I just knew that there was a woman that I couldn't stand to live without,” he says.
After picking out a Neil Lane ring, Sean heads to the proposal sight to dump Lindsay. Lindsay arrives sure she is about to get engaged and leaves in tears. Sean tries to explain that that he doesn’t have specific reason why he has to let her go; his heart is just leading him to Catherine. Lindsey makes a classy exit and wishes Sean and Catherine well.
Before Catherine arrives, Chris Harrison makes a surprise appearance at the proposal sight to deliver a letter to Sean. The letter is from Catherine. She expresses her love for Sean and says she hopes he chooses her. When she arrives Sean quickly puts her fears to rest. "I miss you every time we have to say goodbye. I don't want to say goodbye anymore. Catherine, I want to spend the rest of my life telling you that I love you,” he says as he gets down on one knee to propose.
Catherine says yes and the newly engaged couple ride away on an elephant.
