Desiree Hartsock is getting a second chance at reality TV love. The bridal stylist from LA was announced as the new Bachelorette Monday night on The Bachelor’s After The Final Rose special.
"I just can't even believe I'm here. With the support of everyone, it's just such a blessing. I could never have imagined signing up for The Bachelor and having this opportunity,” Desiree, aka Des, told host Chris Harrison.
Although her time on The Bachelor with Sean Lowe did not result in an engagement, Des said she believes in the process of the show. “I'm ready, I'm open and I've seen it happen. I did realize that the feelings are real – the emotions that you go through,” she explained. “It is a real relationship and I'm going to have many of them! I know that it can happen and one of them will be hopefully my true love, as cliché as it sounds.”
As for Sean and his fiancé Catherine Giudici, Des said she is “so happy for them.” "I could only hope to have the love that they've found and I am very hopeful in all of this,” she added.
The ninth season of The Bachelorette will premiere May 20 on ABC.
