The Balancing Act and NuStep are Exercising their Rights To Combat Arthritis!

One NuStep at a Time...

(Pompano Beach, FL October 2009)  One of the most frustrating aspects of arthritis is the way it can interfere with physical activity. Some people are afraid to exercise because they worry their symptoms will get worse. But in reality, exercise is a key part of managing the condition successfully. The solution is having the knowledge and equipment to exercise in a way that can help control arthritis symptoms.  Tune into The Balancing Act joined by NuStep October 15th, airing on Lifetime Television at 7:30am. (EST/PST)

The Balancing Act is excited to welcome special guest, Kristin Coleman, Director of Fitness and Personal Training at The Villages Wellness Center.  Kristin will cover many topics regarding exercising and arthritis, and will offer her solutions to getting a workout designed with arthritis in mind.

Kristin says, “Regular exercise is essential for most arthritis patients, it improves energy and helps with weight control. It maintains a healthy heart.  It also increases bone and muscle strength, which helps contribute to healthy joints. And by moving your joints regularly—it will help maintain flexibility and full range of motion.”

The Arthritis Foundation has created the Ease-of-Use program to assist in a workout that is specifically designed for arthritis sufferers.  They also give commendations to “arthritis friendly” products that make exercise simple and accessible. One of these is the NuStep-- a single, easy to use machine.

To show just how the NuStep works, The Balancing Act has also invited Steve Sarns, Vice President of NuStep to the show.  Sarns says, “It’s a thrill to show your viewers how NuStep can benefit people with arthritis through a low-impact, total body workout.  The pumping motion from using the NuStep can stimulate synovial fluid, which typically dries up in osteoarthritis. We like to say motion is the lotion for soothing your arthritis symptoms.”

Wherever you are in the course of your arthritis, the benefits of an appropriate exercise regimen are priceless.  If you’d like more tips on staying fit with arthritis, log on to http://www.nustep.com/.  For more information on The Arthritis Foundation, just go to http://www.arthritis.org/.
