Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights Bill Lyons of Lyons HR

Florence, AL – To sustain profitability, a company must be able to focus on its mission critical objectives: increasing revenue, improving operations and satisfying its existing client base, but with new employment laws being passed seemingly on a weekly basis, more and more businesses are forced to invest time and resources toward tedious administrative responsibilities without the necessary expertise.

Lyons HR is a professional employer organization (PEO) specializing in providing human resource solutions to relieve the burdensome responsibilities associated with employment, including benefits, payroll and workers' compensation services. Through a customized co-employment arrangement, Lyons HR allows business owners to focus on the strategic issues that drive productivity, employee loyalty, and customer satisfaction.

“We don’t tell a company how to run their business. We don’t know how,” says Bill Lyons, CEO of Lyons HR. “But through our services, we allow them to invest their time and energy into what’s truly important: the business of their business.”

While there isn’t one type of company that can benefit from employing the services of a PEO, according to Lyons, companies with fewer than 75 employees tend to be strong candidates. Once a company employs more than 50 employees, it is subject to the same laws as larger companies, but few mid-sized companies possess the necessary human resource expertise to adequately manage their responsibilities at the state and federal level.

“Some companies are hesitant to employ the services of a PEO because there’s a perception they will lose control over their business,” says Lyons. “But a PEO gives an employer more control over their business: a team of experts to help them navigate the murky waters of human resources more effectively than they can do on their own.”

Lyons HR’s support staff consists of operations associates, payroll processing specialists, benefits administrators and traditional HR professionals. As with all service industries, the importance of quality customer service cannot be overstated; Lyons believes the company’s true strength lies in its field human resource service representatives embedded within their clients’ organizations.

“It’s very tempting in a PEO business model to provide services remotely,” says Lyons, “but we have always subscribed to the idea that we want to entangle our services with our clients business. We are actively engaged with our clients and I think it’s that extra level of service that gives us a competitive advantage.”
