The Sapphires, starring Chris O'Dowd, Deborah Mailman, Jessica Mauboy, Shari Sebbens and Miranda Tapsell, opens in theaters Friday, March 22. The comedy/drama, set in 1968, tells the story of four Australian Aboriginal sisters who make up an all girl singing group call The Sapphires. Their first real gig is singing for American troops in Vietnam.
The film has a runtime of 1 hour 39 minutes and is rated PG 13 for smoking, sexuality, a scene of war violence, some language and thematic elements.
