Lil Wayne is on the mend! The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Monday following a week-long hospitalization for a series of severe seizures.
Carter himself has not commented on his release, but the president of his label Young Money confirmed the news on Monday. “Thanks to Cedar Sinai for everything!!! @LilTunechi (Lil Wayne) has been officially been released and is headed home….God is great,” Mack Maine tweeted.
Last Friday, Carter reached out to his fans over Twitter. “I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love,” he wrote.
Us Weekly magazine reports Carter is now resting at a luxury L.A. hotel. Sources previously told the publication that Carter’s health scare was caused by him taking “too much sizzurp to get a better high.” Sizzurp is a combination of soda, candy and prescription grade cough syrup.
