In fact, the firm announced record revenue and profits for the second quarter of 2009. Rodman & Renshaw also swung to a quarter-overquarter profit of $15.9 million, or $0.42 per share, compared to the $12.3 million, or $0.35 per share, loss from Q1.
The firm’s expertise in both PIPE financing and Registered Direct offerings has been effective in helping companies deal with current economic conditions and their need for capital. PIPE transactions allow qualified investors to purchase stock at a set price directly. The technique is attractive to companies in need of capital because of its time and cost efficiency.
