Homeland Producer Henry Bromell Dies

Brotherhood and Homeland executive producer Henry Bromell has died. The 66-year-old passed away Monday in an L.A. hospital, his agent Peter Benedek has confirmed. According to the Los Angeles Times, Bromell suffered a heart attack. No other details were immediately available.

Showtime paid tribute to Bromell in a statement.  "We are deeply saddened by our dear friend Henry Bromell, who has been part of the Showtime family for over a decade. Henry was an immensely talented and prolific writer, director and showrunner, and his work on Brotherhood and Homeland was nothing short of brilliant. His passion, warmth, humor and generosity will be greatly missed. Our hearts and thoughts go out to his wife and family,” the network said.

"Henry was a profoundly decent and generous man. A great writer and a great friend," 'Homeland executive producers Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon said in a separate statement. "Everybody here at 'Homeland' is grieving, and we will miss him beyond words."

The Emmy-winner’s other work includes Chicago Hope, Northern Exposure and Rubicon. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
