Tulix Systems, the innovation leader in managed IPTV and multi-screen
services, is now officially qualified as one of the Top CDN suppliers for speed
and performance. Current industry
standard testing shows Tulix Systems CDN as one of the Top 5 CDNs based out of
Atlanta, GA, as part of a group including a Tier 1 cable operator, a major State
University and two other top tier CDN providers.
The results of this
testing and ranking provide quantifiable proof that Tulix Systems CDN is
acknowledged as one of the same caliber as the top CDN suppliers in the
industry. This accredits the Tulix CDN
as of the highest speed and performance that is part of Tulix’s benchmark live
streaming capability.
“It is very
gratifying that a well-accredited industry standard approach to testing CDN
speed and performance has shown what we’ve known for some time,” said Kenan
Acer, Chief Creative Officer at Tulix Systems, “that the Tulix CDN supports the
highest performance level and should be ranked among the top CDNs in the
industry.”
The industry standard
Speedtest.net used is based on the Ookla/Speedtest approach, referenced within
the cornerstone MIT study, “Understanding Broadband Speed Measurements,”
released on June 2010. This study
provided in depth analysis of many broadband speed attributes and as part of the
study MIT wholly endorsed the Ookla/Speedtest approach. One of the key differences of the
Ookla/Speedtest approach versus other approaches was the Ookla/Speedtest takes
into consideration multiple TCP connections to collect the measurement data which
overcomes certain measurement limitations that most other testing approaches
incur.
This accreditation means
Tulix CDN customers can now test their uplink speeds directly to the Tulix
network servers. And for other CDN
customers needing a premium reference point for testing their performance, they
can use Tulix as providing benchmark and namebrand CDN service.
Tulix Providing the Industry Benchmark for Live Streaming
The Ookla/Speedtest approach used
here takes in consideration whole performance, starting with “filling the pipe”
of a connection up to full 1Gb/s and measuring the maximum potential throughput
of that connection, and combines this level of testing with other factors key
to supporting video streaming including packet loss, latency and jitter. The highly ranked result of the Tulix CDN in this
comprehensive testing approach substantiates the company’s claim that it
provides the industry standard benchmark for live streaming.
