Right in the Middle is a fun but informative three-hour workshop to help Moms and their tween daughters celebrate and prepare for middle school. According to Icard, “Most moms don’t fondly recall the drama of middle and/or have great concerns about the social challenges their daughters may face when they start middle school. Girls are curious and perhaps intimidated by what awaits them in this new social scene. This workshop helps Moms open the lines of communication with their daughters and start middle school ‘right’.”
Icard, the founder of Michelle in the Middle and creator of the teen social leadership curricula, Athena’s Path and Hero’s Pursuit, will lead the discussion and activities talking about middle-school brains, bodies, boys and behaviors. Rosie Molinary, the conference co-host and guest speaker, is a nationally-recognized author, professor and expert on body image and self-acceptance.
