Jerry Wexler Memorial Ceremony to be Held in New York City

A memorial for Jerry Wexler will be held in New York City on October 30, 2009 beginning at 12:00 pm. Mr. Wexler was a record producer and a former co owner of Atlantic Records. The memorial will be hosted by his children Lisa and Paul Wexler. The ceremony will include music, oration and video presentations. Many of his family, friends, artists, musicians and co workers will be in New York for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 25th Anniversary Concerts. Invite to the memorial will be upon invite only.

The band members at the memorial will consist of Bernard, Purdie, Anton Fig, and Simon Kirke on drums; Jerry Jemmott and Barbara Cobb on bass; Spooner Oldham and Mike Finnegan on keyboards; Jen Leigh on guitar; and the Uptown Horns. Producer Jon Tivens, will be the Musical Director.
