NFL News: Dallas Cowboys Coach Wade Phillips Safe for Remainder of Season According to Jerry Jones

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said that coach Wade Phillips is safe for the remainder of the season, putting to rest speculation that his firing was imminent.

Phillips, in the last year of his three-year deal, has faced strong criticism from fans who have seen a wealth of talent on the field but sub-par results. Currently sitting at 3-2 on the season, the Cowboys narrowly beat the Kansas City Chiefs last week.

The Cowboys have beaten the Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Carolina Panthers; teams with a combined 1-13 record on the season. Their two losses have come against the New York Giants and Denver Broncos and with the Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles following their bye-week they could be facing tough days ahead.

On Thursday Jones didn’t appear too worried about the criticism of Phillips, saying during his weekly radio address “We've got a chance to get a lot of things done, and we've got a lot of football left to play, and we've got some good people that not only can play it but coach it.”
