Although they landed in the bottom two, Victor Ortiz and Lisa Vanderpump both survived elimination Tuesday night on Dancing with the Stars. Instead of a couple being eliminated based on viewer’s votes, Olympic figure skater Dorothy Hamill voluntarily bowed out of the competition due to a spinal injury.
"I've taken the advice of my spine surgeon and I need to withdraw from the competition. I have an injury that could be irreparable nerve damage and it would be completely unfair for me to stay in this and have any of these people go home,” Hamill, 56, explained.
“It’s been a wonderful ride," she added. "I wish I could stay, but I can’t do justice to the commitment."
Hamill was partnered with Tristan MacManus. In addition to Victor Ortiz and Lisa Vanderpump, the remaining celebrities include Sean Lowe, D.L. Hughley, Jacoby Jones, Andy Dick, Wynonna Judd, Kellie Pickler, Zendaya, Aly Raisman and Ingo Rademacher.
