Leon Russell is one of the most prolific session players, songwriters, record label and studio owners, and solo performers of the past 50+ years. One of the originators of the ‘Tulsa Sound’, Russell has played with artists as diverse as Gram Parsons, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, The Ventures, The Beach Boys, The Birds, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, B.B. King, The Rolling Stones, The Band, Elton John, Doris Day, Willie Nelson, and New Grass Revival.
An incredibly successful songwriter, Russell’s material has been covered by Ray Charles, Peggy Lee, Willie Nelson, Amy Winehouse, Christina Aguilera, and Whitney Houston, and George Benson, and Dusty Springfield, to name a few. His unique playing and writing style blends folk, rock ‘n roll, country, blues, gospel, rockabilly, and soul. His induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2011 by Elton John only further cements his legend as one of America’s most important living musicians.
He’ll be bringing his band to Atlanta’s Terminal West for an evening of showmanship and exceptional music. Don’t miss this opportunity to catch one of rock ‘n roll’s finest.
