Three of the most prolific players in jazz history pay loving tribute to their one time bandleader, ‘The Man with the Horn’, Miles Davis. Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and Marcus Miller bring Vinnie Colaiuta and Sean Jones to the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s Walt Disney Concert Hall for the first US performance of their homage to one of jazz music’s most profound characters.
Miles Davis is widely regarded as one of the most important figures in the jazz realm and one of the most influential American musicians of all time. He redefined the boundaries of jazz as an artform many times throughout his career, often times creating controversy, but always in a style that found it’s way into more mainstream styles over time. His legacy is that of a true musical innovator that not only indelibly changed the face of jazz, but of rock and pop music by remaining uncompromising in his creative vision.
The all-star lineup of legends Hancock, Shorter, and Miller -- paired with the exceptional accompaniment of Colaiuta and Jones -- is sure to make for an evening of truly incredible music spanning each period from the catalogue of one of the most revered icons in music history.
