NFL News: Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Ray Lewis Fined for Hit on Chad Ochocinco

The NFL has fined Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis $25,000 for violent hit on Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco last Sunday.

As Lewis delivered the fourth quarter hit Ochocinco’s helmet flew off, leading officials to flag the Ravens star for unnecessary roughness. While the hit looked particularly vicious Ochocinco later said Lewis should not be fined by the league.

That view was ignored by the league as Lewis learned of the fine on Friday.

Baltimore will face the undefeated Minnesota Vikings on Sunday while Cincinnati takes on the Houston Texans.
