The United States Air Force is searching the water off
Folly Beach, South Carolina for the wreckage of an F-16 fighter jet that
collided with another F-16 Thursday night during a training exercise.
Pilots from Charleston Air Force Base are searching for
Captain Nicholas Giglio with the help of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard.
Giglio was piloting one of the jets when it collided with
another F-16 piloted by Captain Lee Bryant around 8:30 p.m. Bryant landed
safely at Charleston Air Force Base after the incident. It is still unclear if
Giglio was able to safely eject from his jet.
Both jets were based out of Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter.
The crash is being investigated and Bryant has been interviewed.
