The Everyone Orchestra Celebrates 4/20 at The Cutting Room in NYC with Steve Kimock

The Everyone Orchestra is the brainchild of conductor and musician Matt Butler that brings musicians from various contexts and puts them together on one stage for an improvisational journey through audience interactive, on-the-fly musical direction. Butler employs signs, a white board, and hand signals to direct musicians through changing themes, tempos, time signatures, and styles. The result is always exciting, unpredictable, and fresh, as every show employs a different cast of musicians, bringing new perspectives and styles for their unique input.

Butler directs audience members to participate throughout the show through cheers, chants, singing, and claps to integrate into the music being made on stage. Audience members can even contribute to the direction written on the white board upon request from Butler. The experience of these shows is always an upbeat, memorable dance party; made possible through the high-energy that each audience member, musician, and Butler himself brings to the show.

If you’re in the New York area, be sure to catch this special evening of spontaneity and musical joy, featuring the one and only Steve Kimock with members of Tea Leaf Green, moe., Rubblebucket, and more!
