College Football SEC Schedule Oct. 17: Alabama Crimson Tide Face S.C. Gamecocks, Florida Gators Host Arkansas in Conference Play

The SEC is taking form and the collision course between the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide and #1 Florida Gators in the conference championship remains on track but both teams will be taking on schools looking for a major upset on Saturday.

Alabama (6-0, 3-0) will be facing #22 South Carolina (5-1, 2-1) and with the dominant defense of the Crimson Tide points will be at a premium for the Steve Spurrier led squad. The Tide are coming off an impressive 22-3 win over Mississippi while South Carolina edged Kentucky by two last week. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. ET.

Tim Tebow appears to be back for the #1 Florida Gators (5-0, 3-0) and the table appears to be set for them to run through the remainder of their conference play, setting up yet another SEC championship appearance. They’ll be facing an Arkansas Razorbacks (3-2, 1-2) squad that is capable of scoring points but the Gators defense is one of the best in the nation. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET.

The Georgia Bulldogs (3-3, 2-2) are coming off an embarrassing loss to Tennessee and have dropped two straight conference games. They will look to get back on track against a Vanderbilt Commodores (2-4, 0-3) team that looked awful in a loss to Army last week. Kickoff is set for 12:21 p.m. ET.

Mississippi State (2-4, 1-2) has dropped their last three games but stayed close in losses to LSU, Georgia Tech and Houston and the Bulldogs will be glad to see Middle Tennessee State (3-2) on Saturday. The Blue Raiders are coming off a loss to Troy. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. ET.

The Mississippi Rebels (3-2, 1-2) have had a disappointing season after such a promising start and they’ll look to turn things around when they take on UAB (2-3) on Saturday. Mississippi has dropped two of their last three games as their offense has hit a snag but a date with the Blazers should correct those problems. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET.

Auburn (5-1, 2-1) has been putting up plenty of points this year but it was the Tigers defense that suffered a serious let down last week as they were hand their first loss of the year by Arkansas. They will be hosting a Kentucky Wildcats (2-3, 0-3) team still looking for their first conference win but dangerous none the less. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
