The Seattle Supursonics’ Ray Allen and the Utah Jazz’s Mehmet Okur have been named as injury replacements for Steve Nash and Allen Iverson at this year’s Feb. 18 NBA All-Star Game in Las Vegas.
Ray Allen is no stranger to the NBA All-Star Game. This will be his fourth consecutive appearance and seventh overall. Allen has averaged 26.9 points per game and 4.2 assists and should provide some much needed help at the guard position for the Western Conference.
Mehmet Okur will be making his first appearance in the NBA All-Star Game after commissioner David Stern chose the Utah Jazz forward/center as an injury replacement. Okur has played big for the Jazz since Carlos Boozer went down. Okur is averaging 18.2 points per game and 5.3 rebounds.
