Big Brothers Big Sisters’ 46th Annual Golf Tournament And Party Expands To Offer Something For Everyone In North Texas On May 6

Big Brothers Big Sisters wants all of North Texas to ‘play hooky’ on Monday, May 6 at the Lakes at Castle Hills Golf Club in Lewisville to have some fun and make a big difference in the lives of local children. Between a top-rated golf tournament, a fashion & trunk show, and an evening with dining, dancing and auctions, there will be something for everyone.

Kicking off the day’s festivities is the 46th Annual Bright Realty Golf Classic and Bright Realty Corporate Championship presented by American Airlines Center. Consistently rated as one of the Top 10 charity golf events in Dallas-Fort Worth by the Dallas Business Journal, the tournament will offer options for both the recreation and competitive player. The morning Championship will be a stroke play two-man best ball event that is strictly based on U.S.G.A rules. Prizes will be awarded for the low team score and low individual score. The long-standing Classic event will remain as a second option for those who enjoy a traditional shotgun scramble. This event is for all skill levels with mulligans and fun games.

Championship golfers will tee-off Monday, May 6, for an 8 a.m. start and Classic golfers will have a 2 p.m. shotgun start. Both tournaments will be held at The Lakes at Castle Hills in Lewisville.

For North Texans interested in things other than playing golf, Big Brothers Big Sisters invites them to our Fashion & Trunk Show from 4:30-6:30. Also at The Lakes at Castle Hills, guests will shop various boutiques all while sipping on signature cocktails. Everyone will also enjoy a private fashion show and receive the latest scoop on what trends are hot this summer. The $45 ticket price includes cocktails, door prizes and admission into the evening’s ‘Party Under the Stars.’

Tournament participants and Trunk Show guests receive complementary admission into ‘Party Under the Stars’. To purchase Trunk Show / Party tickets, visit bbbstx.org/party.

Immediately after the tournaments and fashion show, everyone is invited to enjoy an evening of gourmet food and drinks poolside, as well as music by DJ Lucy Wrubel, and a silent and live auction.

All proceeds from the day’s events will directly benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2012, the event raised in excess of $200,000 for the children of North Texas, helping to take 400 children off the waiting list and into caring mentor relationships.

Sponsors for this year’s golf tournaments include Bright Realty, American Airlines Center, FastSigns, Martin Sprocket & Gear, Inc., Rent-A-Center, Autobahn Motorcar Group, Dallas Digital Services and GrandLuxe Magazine. Trunk Show sponsors are BlinQ Boutique, Ultimat Vodka, Swagg Magazine and Kendra Scott Jewelry. Party Under the Stars sponsors include FastSigns, Patron Tequila, Bud Light and The Lakes at Castle Hills.

About Big Brothers Big Sisters:
Big Brothers Big Sisters, the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring organization, holds itself accountable for children in its program to achieve measurable outcomes, such as educational success; avoidance of risky behaviors; and higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships. Partnering with parents/guardians, schools, corporations and others in the community, Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully pairs children (“Littles”) with screened volunteer mentors (“Bigs”) and monitors and supports these one-to-one mentoring matches throughout their course. The first-ever Big Brothers Big Sisters Youth Outcomes Summary, released in 2012, substantiates that its mentoring programs have proven, positive academic, socio-emotional and behavioral outcomes for youth, areas linked to high school graduation, avoidance of juvenile delinquency and college or job readiness.

Big Brothers Big Sisters provides children facing adversity, often those of single or low-income households or families where a parent is incarcerated or serving in the military, with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. This mission has been the cornerstone of the organization’s 85-year history.
