Texas Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy is expected to play in next week’s Big 12 showdown against the Missouri Tigers despite a bruised right thumb that will likely result in the loss of his nail.
McCoy injured his thumb in the Longhorns’ 16-13 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners last Saturday, an injury that occurred in the game’s second quarter. The senor signal caller struggled to complete passes after the injury and finished 21 of 40 for just 127 yards and one touchdown while tossing one interception.
The #3 Texas Longhorns had off on Monday and it isn’t known if McCoy will be ready to return to the field on Tuesday.
