It is a special policy of World Trader Coffee to only sell the finest coffees from each region of the world, and therefore we bring you one of Bolivia’s finest coffees, Colonial Caranavi coffee

This organically grown coffee is known for its heavy body, spiciness and mild acidity. It is among the most popular coffees sold by World Trader Coffee and we are happy to place it on sale during the months of April and May.

This Bolivian coffee gets its name, Colonial Caranavi coffee, from the small farmers known in Bolivia as colonials. This is because of a government land reform in the early 1990’s that allowed these farmers to repossess land from large landowners who took it from them back in the 1950’s.

World Trader Coffee’s Bolivian coffee is grown in the Yungas region in the state of La Paz, between 4,000 and 6,000ft up the Andes mountain range. This height and the climate of Bolivia is perfect for growing coffee. The unusual tropical climate, along with the organic farming policies of Bolivia all combine to produce the special heavy bodied and pleasantly spicy coffee with a mild acidity.
