Time Warner Cable’s EYE ON ENTERTAINMENT Interviews Oscar Winners at The Spike TV SCREAM 2009 Awards

EOE Host Dawna Lee Heising Talks with Academy Award Winning SFX Artists Harvey Lowry & Todd Tucker of DRAX STUDIOS

Spike TV celebrated all things scary and sci-fi on Saturday, October 17, at the Scream 2009 Awards, which were held at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. The show will be broadcast on Spike TV on Tuesday, October 27, at 10 PM EST.

 

A star-studded affair, the guest list included the likes of Johnny Depp (‘Pirates of the Caribbean’), Megan Fox (‘Transformers’), Marvel Comics genius-in-residence Stan Lee, Tobey Maguire (‘Spiderman’), legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, ‘Master of Horror’ George Romero, and director Quentin Tarantino (‘Inglorious Basterds’). Fox, Lee, Richards, and Romero were all presented with awards during the program, with Lee winning the Comic-Con Icon Lifetime Achievement Award and Romero taking home the Scream Mastermind Lifetime Achievement Award.

 

Also in attendance were Harvey Lowry and Todd Tucker of DRAX STUDIOS (‘Watchmen’), there to promote their upcoming film ‘Monster Mutt’, a kid-friendly horror film which Tucker directed and Lowry produced. It concerns a family dog that is kidnapped and changed into the titular creature by a mad scientist; the family recovers their beloved pet and sets about returning him to normal. Lowry and Tucker, along with their partner Greg Cannom, have been nominated for 10 Academy Awards in the field of Special Effects/Makeup, winning twice (‘Mrs. Doubtfire’, ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’).
