Former President George W. Bush now has a new role to keep him busy – being a grandfather. Bush and wife Laura Bush became grandparents for the first time when daughter Jenna Bush Hager gave birth to a healthy baby girl over the weekend.
Jenna and husband Henry Hager named their daughter Margaret Laura, but she will be called Mila. Baby Mila’s birth was announced by her grandfather on Facebook. "Laura and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our grandchild, Margaret Laura 'Mila' Hager. Mila, daughter of Jenna and Henry Hager, is named for her grandmothers. She was born last night, April 13, at 8:43 p.m. in New York City,” Bush wrote. "We met our beautiful granddaughter today. Jenna and Mila are healthy. And our family is elated."
Jenna announced her pregnancy in December on the Today show, where she serves as a correspondent. "We're so excited and obviously nervous about it. I'm a first-time mom. But it's something that I've always wanted,” she said at the time.
Jenna and Henry wed in May 2008. See pictures of Mila in the photo gallery below.
