Jessica Simpson is getting ready for her son! The fashion designer and Fashion Star mentor met with about 100 family members and close friends Sunday afternoon for a Tom Sawyer-themed baby shower at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles. Simpson, who sported a blue Diane von Furstenberg maxi dress and nude Brian Atwood heels, was accompanied to the party by her fiancé Eric Johnson and their 11-month-old daughter Maxwell.
Planned by celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss and Simpson’s mom Tina, the 4 hour party featured vintage tables, tin pitchers, and southern food like pigs in a blanket, mini-burgers, corn on the cob and fried chicken. Guests included Simpson’s sister Ashlee Simpson, her hairdresser and close friend Ken Paves, and actress Jessica Alba.
Simpson announced her pregnancy in December. In March, she accidentally reveal the baby’s gender on Jimmy Kimmel Live. While talking about how hard her second pregnancy has been, Simpson joked than she “never knew that a wiener could actually make me nauseous.”
“Well, I guess I just told the world that I’m having a boy!” she said, adding, “I can’t believe I did that; that was not planned … I just did it so crude, too. That was awful. I’m talking about wieners.”
Simpson also told Kimmel that she believes two children may be her limit. “I really don’t want to be pregnant again, because this pregnancy is really rocking my world right now,” she said. “I just feel awful, I've been vomiting.”
The Fashion Star mentor is due to give birth this summer.
