Miranda Kerr has confirmed that her days as a Victoria’s Secret Angel are over. The model tells The Sydney Morning Herald that her departure is a “natural evolution” brought on by her marriage to Orlando Bloom and the birth of their 2-year-old son Flynn.
"This is a natural evolution. The thing is, I've been modeling since I was 13. I'm now entering a new phase in my life,” she explained. “I have felt this coming since my son was born and, after I became a mother, I realized I needed to prioritize my time.”
"'I'm just not in a position to commit to a full contract at this time," she added. "It's three months at a bare minimum."
Last week, insiders told Us Weekly magazine Kerr’s 3-year contract “was not renewed” after its recent expiration because she is “not a big seller for VS” and she has a “difficult reputation.” Kerr has not commented on those rumors.
Meanwhile, Kendall Jenner has said she would “love” to become a VS Angel. Kendall, the teen step-sister of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, told E! News last week, "It's always been kind of a dream of mine. It's a very great thing to do, and it's something I'd love to do."
Current Angels include Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio and Doutzen Kroes among others.
