The Indianapolis Colts are a perfect 5-0 on the year and could be getting better as safety Bob Sanders might make his season debut on Sunday when the team faces the St. Louis Rams.
Sanders missed all of training camp following surgery on his right knee but on Wednesday he said he is feeling better than he has in a long time. He is expected to take part in most of the team’s workouts this week and a decision regarding his status will be made later.
The 2007 NFL Defensive Player of the Year missed a large portion of the 2008 season after injuring his ankle in Week Two. He returned in Week Nine only to injury his knee in Week Ten which left him sidelined for more games. He played in a total of just six games in 2008 as well as the Colts loss to the San Diego Chargers in the postseason and then had surgery on his knee.
