Kim Kardashian And Kris Humphries Avoid Trial With Divorce Settlement

Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries have come to a settlement in their divorce after a bitter court battle that has lasted nearly 2 years. Kardashian, 32, filed for divorce in October 2011 after just 72 days marriage.

"As a result of this agreement, we will not have a trial in this case," Judge Hank M. Goldberg said in a hearing Friday. "I want to congratulate the attorneys on both sides. This is a sensible way to resolve this case."

Details on the settlement will remain confidential. Neither Kardashian nor Humphries has commented. Kardashian, who is 6 months pregnant with her first child with boyfriend Kanye West, appeared in court Friday wearing a black cocktail dress and black heels. Humphries was not present for the hearing.

The case was set to go to trial on May 6. Humphries was demanding an annulment on the grounds of fraud while Kardashian denied fraud and demanded a divorce.

Earlier this week, sources told RadarOnline.com Humphries would be willing to drop his annulment bid if the reality star apologized in court and in a public statement. “Kris has never said he won’t settle, but he has certain conditions and terms that he wants Kim to agree to that don’t include money,” the source claimed. “If Kim comes into court with an attitude and acting full of herself, Kris will absolutely take this to trial.”

“Put simply, if Kim were to formally apologize to Kris in court tomorrow — and if he felt it were sincere — he would likely agree to end the marriage and avoid the trial,” added the insider.
