Cigar Store Indians at Smith’s Olde Bar, Friday, April 27, 2013

From humble beginnings “playing to nobody,” Cigar Store Indians is an up and coming band that is bringing the rockabilly, honky tonk country and cow punk sound back to Atlanta. On April 27 you can see them at Smith’s Olde Bar and enjoy the good food and cold drinks that are there.

The band was formed back in 1991 in Crabapple, Georgia after Ben Friedman and Jimmy “Lownote” Lavender discovered they shared a passion for rockabilly music and began to work on songs together. They developed a large fan base in and around Atlanta and were able to be signed right to Landslide Records.

For many years, after hitting a good stride, the band went on hiatus until 2012. Now Ben and Jimmy, along with former members of the band “The Blue Jays” and are now playing live all over Atlanta and the surrounding area.

You can see them Friday, April 27 at Smith’s Olde Bar.
