The #9 Kansas Jayhawks (23-4) handed the Nebraska Cornhuskers (15-10) their second-worst loss in school history on Saturday 92-39.
At one point in the first half the score had been tied 13-13 but Kansas closed the half on a 23-9 run and buried any upset hopes the Cornhuskers may have conjured. Every player on the Kansas squad scored in the blowout. Darrell Arthur and Brandon Rush led Kansas with 13 points and Sherron Collins added 12.
Nebraska’s worst loss came in 1958 when Kansas beat them 102-46. While they managed to avoid the school’s worst loss, the Cornhuskers didn’t even look like they belonged on the same court as the Jayhawks.
Offensively, the Cornhuskers couldn’t find any consistency throughout the game. The shot 3-20 from beyond the three-point line and overall they shot 32 percent from the field.
Kansas closed the game on a 41-10 run.
The Jayhawks improved to 10-2 in the Big 12, they are now tied with Texas A&M atop the conference. The Cornhuskers fell to 4-7.
