A Missouri girl disappeared after leaving a friend’s home
Wednesday evening around 6:15. Cole County authorities say Elizabeth Olten was
reported missing by her family when she didn’t arrive home by 7 p.m. She was
supposed to walk a quarter mile to her home on Route D near St. Martins.
Olten’s family said she is afraid of the woods and the
dark, so she wouldn’t normally be out at night. A search team was formed Wednesday
night but they found nothing. Police and the FBI resumed the search today but
weather and wet terrain was hampering the operation.
Olten, 9, was last seen wearing a pink scarf, pink
sweater, butterfly t-shirt, blue jeans and white shows. She is about 5 feet 2
inches tall, has long brown hair, brown eyes and weighs about 102 pounds.
Anyone with information on Olten’s disappearance is asked
to call the Cole County Sheriff’s Department at (573) 634-9160.
