Astronomy.FM and Global-Rent-A-Scope Partner for Three-Day Galilean Nights Promotion
Astronomy.FM and Global-Rent-A-Scope have partnered for a special three-day Galilean Nights promotion offering free telescopic imaging time to internet users around the world. The Galilean Nights is a Cornerstone project of the International Year of Astronomy 2009 (IYA2009) and takes place from 22-24 October 2009. Just as the IYA2009 aims to stimulate interest in astronomy and science, AFM and GRAS seek to encourage greater participation in various astronomy activities, including deep-sky imaging and knowledge sharing.
In addition to the three-day promotion, Astronomy.FM*Radio's DeepSkyDivas will air a special online audio/visual presentation, featuring "all things Galileo", on Oct 24 at 9pm EDT. This live event will supplement the many Galilean Nights events taking place worldwide and offers a fun alternative for those unable to attend local Galilean Nights events.
