Another Greenlane Biomethane Order from Japan

Greenlane Biogas is pleased to confirm that it has received an order through its partner Kobelco Eco Solutions in Japan for another biogas upgrading plant.

Greenlane Biogas is pleased to confirm that it has received an order through its partner Kobelco Eco Solutions in Japan for another biogas upgrading plant. The new project will be located in the city of Hitachi, Ibaraki Prefecture. This is the 2nd project to be supplied through Kobelco into Japan this year and will be the 5th project that Greenlane has supplied complete or key components for build under license plants into Japan. The Greenlane plant will process raw biogas from waste water providing high quality biomethane suitable for vehicle refuelling.

“Greenlane entered into a long term partnership with Kobelco back in 2004” said Mr
Rowntree, Sales Director for Greenlane. “The association has been wonderful for both companies. Kobelco have done a great job in promoting biogas in Japan and now in 2010 are really starting to see the rewards of the work they have put in. We congratulate them on their achievements and look forward to the many other exciting possibilities they are now generating in Japan.”

Spokesperson for Kobelco, Mr Shiro Toyohisa said “the Greenlane biogas upgrading
system is now one of our major products. In Japan, it is now a very important issue to reduce CO2 emissions and upgraded biomethane is a key way we can contribute to this goal. Kobelco has made a large effort to market and distribute the biogas upgrading systems and to improve adoption in the Japanese market.

In August, Greenlane delivered to Kobelco two modules for the town of Tarumi in Kobe City, which utilises 2x50% plants to give a high degree of flexibility and redundancy. The pressurised water scrubbing technology offered by Kobelco and Greenlane in Japan is favoured around the world as the simplest and most efficient biogas purification technology available. The plant for Hitachi is scheduled for delivery from the factory during November 2010, with installation early 2011 in Japan.
