Jason Aldean and his wife Jessica Ussery have confirmed they are “having problems” in their marriage, but the couple stopped short of confirming rumors they have separated.
"I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time,” a rep for the country singer tells People magazine. "It's a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way."
No other details were released. A source tells Us Weekly magazine the pair separated in January, three months after Aldean, 36, was photographed kissing and cozying up to American Idol album Brittany Kerr at a West Hollywood bar. At the time, Aldean apologized for his “inappropriate” behavior.
“Hey Guys – I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites. The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar,” he wrote on his official Facebook page. “I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”
Us Weekly’s insider claims Aldean and Ussery have been having problems before the bar scandal. "There were obvious problems before the bar kiss, but he finally left earlier this year," the source tells Us.
Aldean and Ussery were high school sweethearts. They have been married for 11 years and have two daughters together, 9-year-old Keeley and 5-year-old Kendyl.
