Award-winning record producer, composer, sound mixer, actor and drummer Dino Maddalone was a guest on “Eye on Entertainment” and was interviewed by Dawna Lee Heising on October 22, 2009. Dino’s career of “creating music” spans four decades.
Dino’s father Fred was a singing bartender in Chicago and used to sing for all the mobsters. Born in Chicago, Dino moved to Los Angeles, CA at the age of three. His older brother Jeff brought home a drum set when Dino was only 10 years old. That night Dino was playing them to Beatles Records. Dino joined his first band at 11 years old and, in 1986, began to play professionally with many bands and solo artists. He toured most of the world and became one of the “most used” drummers in Los Angeles. Dino’s brother Chris has worked for CBS Television for 18 years, his brother Jeff is a professional artist and his sister Carrie owns a clothing store. His daughter Lacy is shooting with famed photographer Joan Lauren and is going to be submitted to the Wilhelmina and Ford modeling agencies
In 1987, Dino built his first recording studio in the South Bay. Since then, he has worked with many musicians ranging from Grammy Award-winning artists to garage bands, and has sold more than 25,000,000 CDs and downloads with the artists he has produced. Today Dino owns one of the most fully equipped 2000 sq. ft. digital and analog studios in Los Angeles, the "DINO M4 Recording Studio".
In 2008, Dino was selected as “Record Producer of the Year” by The Los Angeles Music Awards committee, and the CD that he produced for Kris Searle was nominated for “Record of the Year”. Kris Searle also won “International Artist of the Year” for the CD they put together called “Slowly Diabolical”. He has also won “Best Album of the Year” and “Best Hard Rock Album of the Year” at the Dove Awards for the Gospel Music Association (GMA). Dino was also selected for the Rugged Records “Hall of Fame”.
Dino has worked on numerous film and television projects, including producing, composing underscore, post-production, post-mixing and/or acting. Skeelo, Dino and Mama-Kym are featured on the song, which was released in October 2009. Skeelo’s new "Rock Version I Wish 2010" was released in the Netherlands and went to Number #1. “Rock Version I Wish 2010” has been licensed to be in the new feature film "Daze", which will star Gary Busey and Richard Moll.
