Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights Dr. Gisella Zukausky of the Midwest Training Institute of Hypnosis

Fort Wayne, IN – Hypnotherapy provides mental health professionals with a whole new set of valuable tools to help their clients more effectively. But without the proper training in its practical application, hypnosis can do more harm than good.

The Midwest Training Institute of Hypnosis (approved for applicant status by the state of Indiana #ac-0136) is a hypnotherapy and hypnosis training school offering a broad spectrum of techniques for those interested in applying hypnosis to their lives. Led by Dr. Gisella Zukausky, the institute offers the most comprehensive curriculum among state-approved schools in the country, with courses in both basic as well as advanced hypnosis, including medical hypnosis.“

I’m passionate about hypnosis because I’ve seen what it can do that nothing else can do,” says Dr. Zukausky. “And I’m passionate about helping people.”

Dr. Zukausky describes hypnosis as “any time you’re not making yourself think,” comparing it to daydreaming or meditation. While under hypnosis, we’re able to access our subconscious mind where the emotions that cause our negative behaviors can be found.

“Everything physical starts with something emotional,” explains Dr. Zukausky. “Habits require emotions. Using hypnosis, we can direct the subconscious mind to correct those emotions in the best way. When we resolve the emotions that drive our habits there is no longer a need for the habit.”

According to Zukausky, the rise in popularity of hypnosis seminars to stop smoking or lose weight only serves to discredit the profession. Most of the leaders of these seminars will give post-hypnotic suggestions to change, but that does not address to the cause of the problem. To eliminate a habit without addressing the emotions that feed the habit will only lead to it being replaced with another potentially more harmful habit.

While many schools teach basic hypnosis they don’t teach its practical application. Zukausky has been an instructor of hypnosis since 1991. She’s brought her lectures, demonstrations and hands-on training to a number of international conferences. She also offers hypnotherapy and counseling services through her private practice, Achieve with Hypnosis.

“Many times when they’ve tried everything else I’m their last resort,” says Dr. Zukausky. “Almost everything I do work on is done in about three sessions and the results are permanent because I’ve gotten to the cause.”

Close-Up Talk Radio will feature Dr. Zukausky in a four-part interview with Doug Llewelyn on May 6th and May 13th at 12pm and with Doug Llewelyn on May 20th and May 27th at 12pm EST.
