SingMeAStory.org has released a new animated video explainer today in hopes of inspiring others to join in the fun and donate to their cause.
This Nashville-based charity, founded in 2011, has found a unique angle to connect the kids they help serve to those who volunteer to contribute. Instead of merely soliciting donations via raffles or sales of a product, they ask kids from their partner organizations (hospitals, hospices, and children's homes around the world) to contribute stories and drawings about anything they wish. The stories are then submitted to over 850 involved songwriters who create songs based on the tales. A company or person who'd like to contribute picks one of the partner organizations to sponsor. Then, every time one of the selected songs attributed to the partner organization is played, a dollar is donated from that sponsor. After a six-month donation period (which includes a donation cap), the final contribution is split between the Sing Me a Story foundation and the sponsored partner organization. Sing Me a Story is actively seeking sponsors to get involved.
Like many companies that have great solutions to real problems, Sing Me a Story needed a fun, efficient way to simply explain their foundation and why other businesses and private entities should consider partnering with them. That's when they turned to Fire Starter Videos, one of Hollywood's top animation companies that specializes in helping companies explain what they do quickly using the power of animated videos.
Sing Me a Story's founder, Austin Atteberry, explains, "When we saw how sweet and simple Fire Starter's whiteboard animation could be, we felt it was the perfect vehicle to explain our model. The video has a whimsical style to it that naturally creates a bridge to our own inspirational songs and stories."
