Mike Sillinger scored the game winner with less than 30 seconds remaining to give the New York Islanders (29-23-8) a 6-5 come-from-behind victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins (32-18-9). Chris Simon had a pair of goals for the Islanders and Randy Robitaille added three assists as NY rallied from a 3-1 deficit and a 5-4 deficit to get the win. Sidney Crosby had four assists in the Pittsburgh loss.
The Nashville Predators (40-18-3) scored the games first four goals to easily beat the Phoenix Coyotes (25-32-3) 4-1. Scott Hartnell scored twice for the Predators in the second period and Tomas Vokoun had 22 saves in the win. J.P. Dumont put the Predators on the board in the first period with a penalty shot goal and Jason Arnott scored in the opening minute of the second period in the win.
Petr Tenkrat scored a pair of goals and P.J. Axelsson added a goal and an assist as the Boston Bruins (28-26-4) rallied from a 2-1 deficit to beat the Philadelphia Flyers (16-35-8) 6-3. The Flyers scored twice in the first eight minutes of the second period to take a 2-1 lead but Boston scored three straight to take control of the game. Marc Savard added an empty netter to go along with two assists for Boston. Kyle Calder had a goal and two assists in the Philly loss.
