The Papua New Guinea Peaberry Coffee from World Trader Coffee: A Delight in a Cup

Know around the world as a sweet and full-bodied Peaberry coffee, the Papua New Guinea coffee is characterized by a balanced flavor, chocolate overtones and slightly dry finish.

Coffee production in Papua New Guinea seemingly originated when seedlings of Jamaican Blue Mountain, the undisputed king of coffee, were introduced to the island in 1927. On the island, which lies just north of Australia, this Indonesian coffee is well known, around the world as a sweet, full-bodied Peaberry coffee. Like many of the coffees from Indonesia, Papua New Guinea coffee is characterized by a balanced flavor and chocolate overtones. The sweet acidity and complex fruity aroma makes this coffee a great beverage to wake up to.

Like many of the single origin Arabica coffees sold by World Trader Coffee, most Papua New Guinea coffee is organically grown by small farmers. These farmers organize themselves into co-ops to share the coffee processing facilities. The fact that these farmers do not use any synthetic fertilisers or pesticides results in coffee with naturally low levels of caffeine and acidity. Some of the Papua New Guinea coffee is said to have the pungent fruitiness of mango and papaya.

Like all our coffees, Papua New Guinea are premium Arabica beans rather than the Robusta beans which are typically cheaper, but less flavorful. These are favored by large coffee packagers but World Trader Coffee prefers quality over quantity and it shows with every package we ship.

Additionally, like all of World Trader Coffee’s products, Papua New Guinea Peaberry coffee is roasted to order to provide the freshest cup of coffee. It is our policy not to hold inventory of roasted coffee.
