Mama June celebrated her commitment to longtime love Mike Thompson, aka Sugar Bear, on Sunday with a ceremony in their backyard. The Here Comes Honey Boo Boo reality star refuses to say if the ceremony means they are legally wed now, but she says it was important for Honey Boo Boo and her three other daughters “to see this moment and celebrate my love for Sugar Bear.”
"My sister baked the cake, and we spent most of the money on barbecue. We stayed true to our roots and made the focus on the family and my commitment to Sugar Bear. You can definitely plan an event on a budget!” says Mama June, whose real name is June Shannon.
"The day was very special mostly because my girls were able to take part in it," she says.
The 33-year-old sported a custom camouflage gown with orange accents for the occasion, while Sugar Bear wore camouflage pants, a black shirt, and an orange vest. Honey Boo Boo, real name Alana Thompson, wore a pink and orange ruffled gown.
June also has some advice for women still looking for ‘The One.’ "Never settle for a man who doesn't treat you right. If a guy doesn't love everything about you, move on! There are plenty of other fish in the sea,” she adds. "I give this advice to my daughters, because I always want them to be themselves and surround themselves with people who love them for them."
