A crazed male ‘Bieliber’ apparently desperate to meet Justin Bieber slipped past security and tackled the pop star Sunday during a concert at Sevens Stadium in Dubai. Bieber was not hurt in the incident.
The 19-year-old was seated at a piano performing “Believe” when the unidentified fan grabbed him from behind. Security guards grabbed the unidentified fan at the same time, and a brief scuffle resulted in Bieber’s piano falling over on its side. Bieber escaped the scuffle and continued singing while the fan was removed from the stage.
Bieber took a 3 minute break and then returned to stage to perform “Baby” and “Boyfriend.” After the concert he tweeted, "Dubai. Nothing stops the show. 2 more to go."
A rep for Bieber spoke to E! news about the incident. “All is fine. A man ran on stage during 'Believe' and tried to grab Justin and knocked the piano over. He was a fan,” the rep said. “Security detained the young man. All was fine and Justin continued the show."
Done Events executive Thomas Ovesen told The National that “no further action has been taken against the youth."
Bieber most recently made headlines for his rekindled romance with on-and-off girlfriend Selena Gomez. The actress flew to Norway late last month for Bieber’s concert in Oslo. She reportedly touched down as the show was beginning and was waiting backstage at Telenor Arena when Bieber finished.
"They have a crazy connection. They just can't seem to break their connection. It can be intense,” a source told Us Weekly magazine at the time.
The couple’s latest breakup happened in January.
