It’s over again for Chris Brown and Rihanna, but this time it appears to be very amicable. In an interview with Australia radio’s Kyle and Jackie Show, the troubled rapper confirms he has parted ways with Rihanna because he shouldn’t focus on “wife-ing” a 25-year-old. Brown also indicated that Rihanna’s busy schedule played a part in their split.
"Imma do it solo. I mean, at the end of the day, shawty doing her own thang, she on the road. It's always gonna be love. I'm a grown man, just gotta fast forward,” he said.
"I'm always gonna love that person. I can’t be focused on wife-ing someone that young,” explained Brown, who turned 24 on Sunday. “I need to be the best Chris Brown I can be.”
Insiders don’t expect the separation to last long. “Of course tomorrow they could be all over each other again, but for now she’s done and just living her life and touring. It’s how it always is,” an insider tells Us Weekly magazine.
The couple dated for about a year before Brown’s 2009 arrest for beating Rihanna during an argument. He was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats. Brown later accepted a plea deal in the case and was sentenced to community service, domestic violence counseling and 5 years of probation. Brown and Rihanna’s relationship ended after the arrest, but in January of this year Rihanna confirmed they were dating again.
"When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world. You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it's different now. We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about shit. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that,” Rihanna explained.
Rihanna has not commented on their breakup.
