Tiger Woods and girlfriend Lindsey Vonn made their first red carpet appearance as a couple Monday night at the Met Gala in New York. Woods, 37, sported a traditional back suit and tie while Vonn, 28, wore a white gown featuring mesh panels and two side slits. The couple appeared happy as they posed for pictures together.
Vonn and Woods confirmed their romance in March following several months of dating rumors. They have reportedly been dating since November.
"I guess it wasn't a well-kept secret but yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy," the Olympic skier wrote on her official Facebook page. "I don't plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends."
Woods also posted a message on his official website. "Something nice that's happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating,” he says. "We thank you for your support and for respecting our privacy. We want to continue our relationship, privately, as an ordinary couple and continue to compete as athletes."
Vonn split from her husband of 4 years, Olympic skier Thomas Vonn, in November 2011. Woods’ marriage to wife Elin Nordegren ended in 2010 after he admitted to cheating on her with numerous women.
